First college paper
The prompt of my very first college paper was "write a philosophy paper that Ann Baker would be proud of" - a daunting task! Not only did I find the prompt overwhelmingly open-ended, satisfying Ann Baker seemed a difficult requirement to fulfill. Ann Baker was our guest speaker for the unit and presented us with an introductory lecture that covered the basics of a good argumentative essay/philosophy paper: strong premises, sound arguments, and good responses to counterarguments. Although I was not used to having such freedom in regards to the thesis of the paper, I finally decided to write a paper about animal testing. After researching quite a bit on this controversial topic, I compiled a list of information for both cases and decided to argue the point that would contain the components of a good philosophy paper.
*I uploaded my original paper, which includes Frances' comments . I really appreciated that she took the time to thoroughly read my paper and provide feedback. I found her insight extremely helpful in improving the language and presentation of my writing!
